from my childhood
found wrapped in tissue paper
in a little old suitcase
on top of a wardrobe
have formed a little Christmas scene
with a sparkly little baubled tree
recently purchased
but with a vintagey feel to it
how sweet are they?
I think they are comet and cupid
has Christmas started appearing at your house yet?
Wishing you a happy day.
Trudy
Hi Trudy, how sweet are they! so nice that you kept them. It's funny how things come back round! I have an advent star to put up in the window, just need some batteries, but that's it so far, Heather x
ReplyDeleteHey Trudy your Comet and Cupid are so sweet, how lovely that you kept them.
ReplyDeleteI remember I was given a book called 'The Night Before Christmas' when I was three. It was a beautifully illustrated book, very American in style, I loved it. I wish I had kept it........
Christmas isn't a big deal here, it's very low key and relaxed. Got enough 'stuff' don't need any more, so time spent together is the focus......
Nice cool morning here after a 'stinker' yesterday.

How cute are they?! Lovely! They remind me of some fabric I have with little deer on. Christmas has JUST started to appear here, bought a lovely poinsettia and have it in a shiney red pot in my lounge. The rest of Christmas will be very close behind I'm sure!! x x
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Yep the kids put the Christmas tree up on the weekend, its gonna be a loooong festive season..... ; )
ReplyDeleteI LOVE these little deer! They are perfect. I am planning a t shirt for Bella for Christmas with a deer just like that and a fir tree, very kitsch and festive.
ReplyDeleteI got the advent calender down from the loft today, and finished some very over the top but fun felt crafting. x
It lovely when we come across something from our childhood isn't it? I still have my little plastic deer, I'm not sure why I kept it, but they are very popular now! We must have all had Bambi fever! :)
ReplyDeleteThey are beyond sweet and cute! Just gorgeous!

Hello Trudy, No not yet...I'm trying not to let it happen too early this year, as I ALWAYS burn out! My son left for uni in September and I have missed him sooo much, he is home for two weeks at Christmas and I just cant wait to have him home, just to have his presence back in the house, I'm such a softy. Your little reindeer are gorgeous, Just love them, I love getting all the dec's out and putting up the tree xx have a good week
ReplyDeleteSophie x
I have purchased a couple of little knitted decorations and I hung them off a light switch as soon as I got home and that is were they have stayed for the last month!! I love your deer they make the perfect christmas scene x
ReplyDeleteNothing Christmassy on display here, but if I had ornaments as cute as these it might well be! They're fabulous Trudy :)
ReplyDeleteMy mother has little Christmas tree ornaments just like these deer. As kids we would argue between us sometimes who got to hang them on the tree. So lovely to see my kids doing it now. Not the arguing bit though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all your sweet comments about my deer! Enjoy the beginnings of Christmas in your homes.
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's so precious, Trudy! I bet the memories came flooding back when you found those little beauties. And that's the best Christmassy feeling ever.
ReplyDeleteHow have you been since Blogtoberfest? I just wanted to let you know that I’m hosting another (albeit gentler and more introspective) blog challenge over the month of December called #reverb12.
Would be so rapt if you joined us!
There’s a little giveaway too. :-)

How wonderful to have kept those sweet deer. I have purchased vintage deer ornaments for my girls to give to them this Christmas with the hope that they'll keep them forever also.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have anything out yet, we leave that till the 1st Dec which is tomorrow. I did put up my newly made advent calendar yesterday though, the girls were getting anxious that I wouldn't have it ready.
