On Stage

One of the most rewarding things about being a parent, apart from impulsive declarations of love from your children, is to sit in a darkened hall and watch your littlies on stage, and this is exactly what I've been doing over the last couple of weeks.

We are so incredibly lucky in our little town to have such an active amateur music and drama society.  Both my girls have been rehearsing tirelessly up until last Thursday night when the show "Dreamboats" opened.

And that's what our school holidays have been all about, rehearsals, performances, helping sell programs and raffle tickets, and serving cups of tea during interval.  It's fantastic seeing how much all the children love being on stage, interacting with the adult actors and their audience.  They have been bees, sprites, fairies, circus performers and funny step-children of Ladderman!!

But the best part of all?  Seeing my girls on stage and knowing that I'm sitting there with the biggest smile on my face and my heart full-to-bursting.

Have a fabulous week.
Seeya tomorrow.

  2. Sounds wonderful, my older son loves story telling and dressing up, but he doesn't like being told what to do - I think he'd love a drama class/club but so far he's not keen! You must feel so proud seeing your girls up there on stage, they look amazing. Rachel x

  3. So far I've only had the fleeting appearance at a school concert but I look forward to a time when I get to do this.
How exciting and how proud you must have felt.

  4. The girls must have the theatrical flair like their mother... When are going to return to the stage... Or even write another play...

  5. Yes, proud moments indeed! I've got two chalk and cheese children, eldest Bea hates being 'in the spotlight' but my youngest loves entertaining! They look great! Ada :)
