Away from the hustle and bustle of what is our life. Time for a walk, a talk, a getting back to nature, a picnic lunch. Breathing it all in and spotting the native wildlife along the way. Here, emus and kangaroos together doing what emus and kangaroos do best.
Want to see how pretty this emu is up close? Look at those lashes!!
And then she was off, and in your best Aussie accent please, : "she can't fly, but I'm telling you she can run the pants off a kangaroo"!!
Hiding in the underbrush, was this cute, little wombat. She didn't want to come out and say g'day and that's okay. She was very busy doing that wombat thing that wombats do.
And a cheeky little wallaby, nose to the sky, ears alert and not shy in the least, posing in fact for this photo!
Our walk took us to this point, and this is where we sat, eyes closed, feeling the breeze on our faces, and hearing the waves roll in. Bliss. There's nothing better than re-connecting with the earth, re-energising and appreciating all that is around us. Everything tends to fall into place. Priorities are re-shuffled.
And always the thought, why don't we do this more often?
Hope you've had some outdoor time in this glorious Winter weather.
Trudy
What a glorious beach and cute wildlife. It's supposed to be summer here, but looks like you've got better weather than us! xx
ReplyDeleteOh Trudy, what a wonderful place to be able to go for a walk! Just beautiful, and all that amazing wildlife, which to us in the UK seems impossibly exotic! You're right though, wherever we are, spending time reconnecting with the earth and it's rhythms is so important, it puts all our little worries in their place and refreshes us, mind, body and soul. We don't do it often enough, thanks for the reminder. Rachel xxx
