Days 25 through 30

Here are the last six photos of my photo-a-day challenge for the month of September.  It has been quite a commitment to take a photo every day for a month, and sometimes a challenge to find something to fit the word but a good excuse to keep my camera at hand and to become alert to photo opportunities around me.

The final six day's are 25. frame, 26. near, 27. love/hate, 28. a good thing, 29. errand and 30. me, then.

My words to fit my photos.

Frame - No-one I know.  Purchased in an antique store.  Love her grin, the old wooden surfboard, the beach houses in the background and her sense of spirit.

Near - I know, this photo was taken very, very near.  My gorgeous pooch, who is never far away from me where-ever I am in the house, unless she gets very comfortable on the couch!

Love/hate - The scales.  Obvious really, love some numbers that come up, hate others.  There hasn't been much loving of these scales for quite some time now!

A good thing - A very good thing that I have these, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do very much at all.  Just sleep.

Errand - Little lists and lots of trips to the shop just around the corner and up the road.

Me, then - Somethings never change.  Less use of the dummy these days though!

30 Days of Photos.  The End.  Thanks for looking!

And today is the day of picking a winner of my give-away.  Thanks so much for entering and sharing your dreams of your perfect studio.  I loved reading them all and have saved in my head some of your fabulous ideas.  After writing out the names and twirling them all around in a bowl, a name was pulled out and it is Claire of Sweet Birdy Love!  Congratulations Claire!  If you email me your address, I'll pop this little parcel into the post to you : -)

Enjoy October!

100th Post Give-away

Hi.  This is my 100th post.  A great big thank you to all the people who pop in here and to those who leave such lovely and encouraging comments, and thank you to those who have hit the follow button too!!

One hundred times I've sat down here at my little table and babbled on and uploaded photos and hit the 'publish' button.  Hard to believe it's been quite that many.  I am enjoying myself immensely and feel very lucky to be a part of this fabulous on-line community and being connected worldwide with like-minded people.  So, again thank you, with a big "most-viewed post" Lalaloopsy smile.  Yup, lots of kids on-line I'm guessing and not you dear peeps going back to this post over and over again?!!

Most people who come visiting at my blog are from Australia, England and the United States, but it's also very exciting to see people from Spain, Belgium, Argentina, South Africa and other corners of the world popping in ... hello!!  My post about Teacup making brought the most comments.  That was nice.

Since beginning my blog I've taken hundreds more photos and am really enjoying playing with my camera, and hopefully improving my skills, looking at ordinary things in a different way.  Also by announcing that I would finish a WIP (work in progress) each month, I'm still on track because of your generous comments and encouragement.  Okay, and a bit of "yikes-I-haven't-finished-my-month's-project-and-I-need-to-blog-about-it"!!!

Okay, enough rambling and back to the give-away.  I have a stack of beautiful fat quarters of pale, dreamy cotton fabrics I would like to send someone.  Perfect to make a lovely, soft quilt, or whatever takes your fancy.

There will be chocolate.  Because we all need a little chocolate in our day!  And there is a little - handmade by me - vintage doiley brooch.   I used someone else's fine stitches in the linen and sewed it onto some lovely wool felt.

Please join in the fun.  All you need to do is leave me a comment to go in the draw.  To make this a bit interesting, tell me about your dream craft room/studio.  Is it a beach hut, treehouse, a little shed in the backyard, is it under the eaves in the attic, in the cellar, in the bush?

I think my ideal place to create would be in a retro caravan parked in a far corner of a paddock, which you had to walk through a field of daffodils to get to.  It would be filled with cushions and books, and maybe I wouldn't do too much creating in there, but I would certainly spend a lot of hours daydreaming.

Pop back on October 1 and I will pick a winner.  Go on, join in the fun!!

27 May 2012

And the Winner is ...

Hang on.  A bit more of a build up is in order I think.  A hat is needed and names and a hand to pick one out etc. etc.  There needs to be a photographer to record the moment and then, and only then should I say "and the Oscar goes to ..."

Hat found, names written out, papers folded, names swirled around and around.

And the winner is ...

Julie, from Little Woollie!!  Congratulations Julie.  Please send me an email with your snail mail address and I'll pop your goodies in the post to you tomorrow.

Enjoy your Sunday.
Cheers, Trudy

50th Post Give-away

Yes, I've posted 50 times.  Who would have thought that I would have enough to babble on about, but it seems I do!!  Taking the lead from other bloggers, I thought I would have a bit of a giveaway to celebrate my 50 posts, and thank my loyal, little band of followers.

Here's a bit of a sneak peak at the goodies.

What's there, you ask?  What could I win?  Where do I enter?!!

The lucky name out of the hat, will receive two balls of Kaffe Fassett sock wool and the pattern to make them (it's that time of year really isn't it, to knit socks?)  The wool is made in Italy, designed by an American who has lived most of his life in England, purchased in Australia, and sent ... who knows where?!!  There is a little girl embroidery panel (she looks innocent enough but what is coming out of her mouth?!!) from the Aussie designer, Jodie Carleton of Vintage Ric Rac.  Check out her blog.  Also, a booklet of quilty stickers, a stash of red buttons.  And if you can't knit or stitch or sew on buttons, then you could file your nails with a spunky, little owl nail file or write a postcard with my little collection of moo postcards!!  Hopefully something in there will appeal.  Hopefully you'll want to enter the give-away!

It's so much fun winning a blog give-away, and then waiting for the little parcel to arrive in the mail.  I was very lucky recently winning a give-away from Maggie at Mag's Creative Meanderings.  Such a gorgeous package of goodies.  Do have a peek at Maggie's blog as she is a newbie, just like me.  Will I tease you with what Maggie sent me from England?  Yes, I will ...

So what do you do?  Leave a comment on my blog (please put your name so I know who you are) and I will put all the names in a hat and pick out a lucky winner!!  I am happy to post anywhere in the world or even up the road and across the park, so join in if you would like to and I will draw a winner on Sunday 27 May.
